1962 Jaguar MK II 3.8 restored and readied for a trip to Le Mans Classics. Engine and carburettors rebuilt, uprated gearbox, cooling system revamp, rear and front axles rebuilt.
1952 Allard J2X in with us for a comprehensive mechanical refresh and servicing. We were also tasked with inserting more originality into the J2X, with some original parts missing or having been replaced with more modern alternatives, we’ve set off into bringing a more period feel back.

We have embarked on continuing and finishing a restoration started on the beautiful Series 3 E-Type V12. After fault finding, diagnosing, replacing, removing and refitting correctly, it all came together wonderfully to spring a new lease of life for this Gran Turismo.
Towards the tail end of 2020, we commenced the restoration project of a marvelous 1959 Austin Healey 100/6. A slightly different challenge for us deviating from our beloved Jaguar & Daimler, exciting nevertheless!
We’ve recently completed the recommissioning of the Series 1 Jaguar E-Type rear axle and gearbox. We commence by stripping all components in preparation for a thorough inspection followed by de greasing and vapor blasting.
We have recently been invited to inspect this Jaguar E-Type 3.8 FHC and advise on the potential restoration process and steps to follow. P&K Thornton Restorations were chosen for this project based on our high level of experience established within our company from 1965, an era which perfectly befits the age of this classic beauty.
Bought new in the States by its first owner who kept it until 2018 when it return to the UK and direct to P&K Thornton Restorations of Nottingham. With only one previous owner in US, our XJS proved to be incredibly original and low mileage for age.
During 2004 - 2006, P&K Thornton Restorations undertook the complete restoration of DBP 366B, chassis 1E1001, the first 4.2 E-Type produced and registered. The restoration contained of paint strip to bare metal and metalwork corrections, respray in original Carmen Red, engine : gearbox : IRS rebuilt, rewiring and all necessary mechanical work, complete re-trim including carpets, seats and fitting of a new bespoke hood. We are pleased to learn how the E-Type 4.2 has survived well and it thoroughly enjoyed in South East Asia.
On this stunning Jaguar XK150 OTS, we have stripped and overhauled the engine and transmission with some sensible upgrades. All engine and gearbox internals were inspected for wear in our state of the art workshop. In addition, we have stripped and refreshed the front suspension, fitting a new set of bespoke polybushes in the process.
Casual Friday, every day. Jaguar XK140 FHC prowling the narrow streets of Nottingham. With works completed, we took it out for a test drive and couldn't stop admiring it. This XK140 has been with us for a full mechanical and cosmetic refresh. All in all, a spectacular fixed head Jaguar, ready to be enjoyed by one excited new owner.
A complete nut & bolt restoration over 4 years by the P&K Thornton team, including bodywork stripped to bare metal, engine and gearbox rebuilt, IRS rebuilt, new wiring loom fitted, items re chromed, new upholstery and hood. This numbers matching manual gearbox V12 is one of the last ones ever made, the culmination of a project that saw many refinements, since its debut at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show.
A stunning restoration of a 1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8S DHC undertaken by the team at P&K Thornton Restorations. The body has been stripped to bare metal and resprayed, the engine and the gearbox were rebuilt, a Vicarage power steering kit was fitted for a more comfortable drive and LED lights upgrades fitted for increased visibility and safety. 800 man hours later and we now have the pleasure to drive it along the twisty countryside roads.
